Kristy Linton - Salon Owner

Hi, I’m Kristy! I’ve been painting nails since I was 18, so it’s been quite a long time now. In 2013, I decided to start my own business, Kristy’s Beauty, within a local hair salon in Barrow. Over the course of four years, I built up a small team and was ready to expand to something bigger and better…and that’s how Zest came along!

I absolutely love doing nails and specialise in brows—the bigger and more unruly, the better!

I pride myself on being a good listener, and I’m definitely someone who can cheer you up on a bad day. Although, I must admit, I will ask you multiple times if you’re going on holiday this year and probably won’t remember your answer each time! 😂 And don’t be surprised if I bring you the wrong drink—I usually make it up when I get to the kitchen because my memory is that bad. 😳

All in all, you’re guaranteed amazing nails, even better brows, and a proper good laugh when you’re sitting in my chair. 🫶🏼

Shelby Fawcett - Beautician

Hi, I’m Shelby! I’ve been qualified for 4 years, and I specialise in lash extensions, brows, lash lifts, and dermaplaning. I’m a good listener and always make sure I fully understand what results my clients are looking for. 🥰

Before this, I worked in a hospital, but I was ready for a complete career change, and now I absolutely love my job.

Dermaplaning is my favourite treatment to perform, so if you’ve got a bit of a hairy face, I’m your girl! If you book in with me for your lashes, you’re guaranteed a great therapy session—or at least a relaxing lash nap. 😂

Tara Griffiths - Nail Technician

Hi, I’m Tara! I’ve been painting nails next to Kristy for 10 years now.

I love trying out any nail art that’s shown to me, and I still get just as excited when I see a new glitter or chrome dust. I enjoy pushing the boundaries, especially when a client says they only want one colour.

It’s not uncommon for a client who usually sticks to the same colour to sit in my chair and leave with bright pink glitter!

My favourite part of the job is getting to know my clients so they feel comfortable enough to say anything—whether it’s not liking their nail design or venting about their kids driving them nuts. 🤣 But be warned, this works both ways…so if I don’t like the nail design you’ve chosen, I’ll definitely let you know! 🤣🙈

The quote, “If you love your job, you’ll never have to work a day in your life,” has never been more true for me. 🥰

Oh, and just a heads up—if you want a hot drink, you’ll need to ask for one because I’ll NEVER remember to offer you one! ☕️

Amy Moncrief - Senior Hair Stylist

Hi, my name’s Amy! I’ve been in the hairdressing industry for 13 years, starting out as a Saturday girl and working my way up to becoming a senior stylist.

I specialise in colouring and love helping people feel confident with new hairstyles! I also enjoy working alongside the best in the industry, especially when it comes to wedding and occasion hair.

Basically, I just love my job (hence all the hours I work! 😂) and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Although, be warned—if you want an appointment, you might need to book 2.5 years in advance to get the day and time you want (jokes 🫣). 🫶🏼

Jennifer Hargreaves - Senior Hair Stylist

Hi, I’m Jennie! I’ve been holding a pair of scissors or a bottle of shampoo since I left school at 16… so that’s at least 17 years now. Time flies when you’re having fun! 🥰

I specialise in cutting and love working with all types of hair—thick, curly, straight, thin, short—you name it! I also do root colours and full colour treatments.

I’m outgoing, friendly, and, most importantly, I listen! My goal is to ensure that when you’re sitting in my chair, I’m giving you and your hair the best service and advice possible.

Carly Doak - Senior Hair Stylist

Hello, I’m Carly D! (There are two of us, so you’ll probably mix us up.)

I’m an experienced stylist with 19 years in the industry, covering all aspects of hairdressing, including cutting, colouring, styling, colour correction, and creative colouring.

I love making your hair look and feel amazing while you’re in my chair, but my real passion is teaching you how to recreate the look at home. I offer good aftercare advice and sometimes even a little styling lesson.

I’m friendly, honest (very honest—if you know, you know), and I’m not afraid of a challenge. ❤️

Carly Morgan - Senior Hair Stylist

Hi, I’m Carly Morgan, or Carly M!

I have 24 years of experience in the hair industry, starting as a Saturday girl, then owning my own salon, and now working as a senior stylist at Zest—which I absolutely love. ❤️

I offer cuts, all colouring services, and blow-dries, but my favourite is working with short hairstyles!

I’m a people person and very outgoing—some might even say I never shut up! 🙊

I love my clients, and most of them quickly become friends. There’s nothing better than a haircut and a catch-up!

I’m thrilled to be part of the team at Zest. We’re a professional yet friendly salon with a great atmosphere, and that’s exactly what I strive to provide: great hair in a great atmosphere with professional service!

Ebony Munro - Senior Hair Stylist

Hi, I’m Ebony! I first started working in a salon at 13 years old on Saturdays, and now I have 12 years of experience in hairdressing. Zest is the second salon I’ve worked in.

I offer all aspects of women’s hairdressing, including colouring, cutting, hair ups, and blow-dries. My favourite part of the job is the relationships I build with each client and the daily laughs with all the Zest girls.

If I’m not on the salon floor, you’ll probably find me hiding in the kitchen with some food! 🙊

Nicola Dixon - Senior Hair Stylist

Hi, my name is Nicola, and I’ve been in this profession for 30 years. Over the course of my career, I’ve gained a wealth of experience through education and working alongside talented colleagues.

I specialise in colour and styling, with a current focus on styling.

Anna Whitehall - Senior Hair Stylist

Hi I’m Anna, I have been in the hair industry for 10 years now and I absolutely love it. I have recently joined Zest after moving back to the area with my partner Jack and my daughter Hallie. I often get asked if cutting or colouring is my favourite and my answer is always the same, I just cant decide. I enjoy doing both and I like everyday to be different.

I absolutely love a good chat, but I’m also a good listener(although no matter how many times you tell me, I’ll never remember where your parting goes😅🤣), when you’re in my chair this is your time. Philippa Carr - Massage Therapist

My name is Philippa, and my journey into massage therapy began 10 years ago as a Spa Therapist in hotels in the Lake District. I then moved on to work on cruise ships, where I gained international experience and knowledge through my travels around the world and across Australia.

One of my most rewarding challenges over the past 5 years has been setting up my own business, Massage by Philippa.

I take great joy in helping clients find pain relief, relaxation, and freedom from tension.

In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends, going for walks and runs, and, when I get the chance, unwinding with a bit of yoga.

Hi, I’m Mel. I’ve been a dental nurse for 9 years, working in private, NHS, and NHS emergency clinics. I’m also a qualified sedation nurse, experienced in taking dental impressions, advanced dental impressions, and applying fluoride varnish to patients.

My next goal is to become qualified in radiography.

At Zest, I offer a range of treatments including Botox, skin boosters, dermaplaning, and fillers for lips, cheeks, jaw, chin, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.

I’m passionate about staying up-to-date with training, continuously learning, and helping people feel better about themselves with natural enhancements.

I can’t always promise I’ll be running on time 🙄, but I can guarantee a good natter in my room. 💕

Maisie Reynolds - Newly Qualified Stylist

My name is Maisie I am 21! I started at zest as an apprentice and since qualifying in 2023 I have built my clientele to be a full time busy stylist.

I specialise in long hair colouring and extensions (I am with the long blonde extensions !) my favourite thing to do is blondes and helping you find the best way to maintain your colour !! I really enjoy doing prom and wedding hair and I quite often come out to the venue to make sure the whole wedding party is looking amazing. I offer free consultations to all colour and hair extension clients make sure i am the stylist for you! I am usually the loudest so you will definitely hear me 🙊❤️

Hi, I’m Hallie! I’m currently doing a Business Administration apprenticeship through Zest, and I’m really enjoying working with everyone here. I’ve loved meeting all the new people and am excited to see where my apprenticeship will take me.
